WELCOME TO GRACE PLACE MINISTRIES

Grace Place . . . a place where the hungry find food, the naked find clothing, the weary find rest, and the people of the local church and community find a place to serve as the hands and feet of the Lord Jesus Christ.

“Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter– when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?”   Isaiah 58:7

Grace Place Ministries serves approximately 3,700 people in need monthly, by providing hot meals in our Soup Kitchen and providing clothing, shoes, household items, and hygiene products in our clothes closet (at no charge). We also host a free Food Pantry twice a month where people in need can select a large supply of groceries to take home to their families. Our mission at Grace Place is to follow Jesus’s teaching to us in the gospel of Matthew: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you visited me”.

In Ouachita Parish, we have many adults and children who are living below the poverty level, and we also have a large homeless population. At Grace Place, we are trying to make a difference in the lives of these individuals, not only by sharing food & items needed, but also by giving them Hope and sharing the Love of Jesus with them.

Many of the people who come to Grace Place are not only hungry for food, but also for Love, and for tender concern from people who genuinely care about them. Our mission is to practice what Jesus explains to us in Matthew, “Truly, I tell you, whatever you do for the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you do for Me”.

Grace Place is a faith-based ministry and we operate solely by the financial support and donated items from our community. We have many youth, school, civic, and church groups who volunteer to help us serve those in need. We live in an amazing and giving community! We believe that with God’s grace and by us all working together, we can and will make a positive change in the men, women, and children in our community whom we serve.
